A quick question about email Steam Gifts

So when you gift a digital purchased copy to a friend on Steam, Steam gives you an option to write down that person's email and it will be sent from there.
My question is have any of you recieved a gift like this before? Like, does Steam give the recipient the option to add the game to the inventory or the library, or does it go directly to the library?

It will also give the option to be placed in their inventory.

You can pick, either directly to the library or store in inventory.

It's been a while but I think you get the option between the two. Can't say for certain though as I always redeemed mine.
