Do you think this is a good idea?
If you wanna thank a certain user, just go to his/her profile. Even if you hide games, they shouldn't be hidden from profiles.
But, if you want to thank anyone who has you whitelisted and you don't know that they do.. I can see your issue.

I think it's a bad idea. People hide the games because they're not interested in them. If a lot of people have you whitelisted and make those GA's, then you still get flooded with them, which is why you hid them in the first place. I can see why you want to thank someone, but I don't like this idea at all.

I've suggested something similar before. It was the ability add a toggle for hidden games. It would be amazing to be able to toggle for reasons like to see whitelist giveaways, or to see if there's any games you hid that you might be interested in now, or just want to comment on. Perhaps on this page:

I've seen some people ask for users they've whitelisted to post in their topics so they know said user is still active/reading descriptions. While I appreciate wanting to keep whitelists organized, I also think this is problematic since some people might either already own the game or have it hidden. Shrugs Dunno if it's worth implementing a feature like that for this matter alone, just an observation I've made.

Similarly I'd like to be able to hide games from the giveaway page. If I'm going through a train I have no way to hide a game I'm not interested in unless it shows up on the public lists. They could add the eye to each page too and allow us to hide. Then if I come across a giveaway for something I've already hidden, the join box is just greyed out or removed.

I hide games because I have no interest in them. I'm also on 100+ whitelists, some of whom make a lot of crappy giveaways sorry. you know who you are that I'm not interested in. What you're suggesting would pretty much negate the point of being able to hide the games

Yes, it would be nice to say thanks even if you have the game in your library/ignore list. Maybe this kind of gibs can be made visible only in a "hidden" section (something like the All; Wishlist; Recommended; Group; New filters on the front page).

it'd be ideal if it was optional. that way those who want it would benefit from it while those who don't wouldn't suffer
of course that would almost certainly also be the most difficult way to implement it too and this is a non-profit site apart from the top secret premium membership deals of course

You are quite famous here and I think you've been whitelisted by a lot of users(including me).And you will be floated with whitelist gibs and that will kill the whole purpose of the hiding gibs.
Also still not sure if your reply is not double sarcasm xD

Hello SteamGifts users,
I think you all are familiar with the "Hide all giveaways for 'the name of the game' " feature. If you are not familiar with it, it basically means that if you don't like to see a giveaway for a game ever again, you hide it and you will never see a giveaway for the hidden game again.
So my idea is that even if you hid a game, you can still see it IF it is made by a user who whitelisted you. Because sometimes I respect the user and I really want to thank him for the giveaway, but right now I can't do that because he might create a giveaway for a game which is on my hidden games list.
Thanks in advance.
