I had something like that before and it was a RAM related problem (had to buy a new stick). It was a long time ago and I can't remember very well.
It might be the GPU but I have no idea how you can make a screenshot of that

That seems like a dying video card (it may sound strange, but actually browsers use a huge amount of video memory). If it is an IGP, you may try replacing the memory modules. However if it is a dedicated video adapter with its own memory, that may be quite expensive and thus unfeasible to fix.

Not too well i guess. It's very likely that it overheats a lot since the fan is kind of busted and the laptop in itself is a mess with broken pieces of plastic all around, a dead battery and covered in dust(i clean it maybe once every 2-3 months but i'm kind of a messy person so my room is always dusty).

Same happened to me lots of years ago with a faulty 8800GT. Started with game crashes and then that kind of lanes. You should take care of the card but, if some of the components are rusty/burned due to overheating, dust or poorly cleaning you could be f*cked

like others said your videocard is on its way out or is just baking hot... cant hurt to take the laptop apart clean out all the fans and heatsync's of dust and debris and if it has a dedicated gpu then try to replace the thermal paste between the gpu and heatsync,if that fails then time to get a new laptop.

Yeah...i guess i could try and clean it :)
The weird thing is that it wasn't that hot when those things started to flash on my screen. It was actually in the best condition it can be nowadays(no previous gaming session that could heat it up yet). I was just browsing the web.

I've seen a lot of photoshops in my days and I can definitely tell by the pixels that the aliens are photoshopping your browser

I keep having similar artifacts (flashing, not persistent) on my brother's old laptop (2009), then sometimes the gpu decides to not work anymore (completely black screen) so I put it in the oven to get it back to work.
But maybe it can be another problem, so I suggest you check other things before baking :P

Usually artifacts affect the entire screen and not "an app/program". Still seems pretty intense artifacts on a little area. Wouldn't be a bad advice to safe the important stuff and or get ready to move the HD to other PC if something important must be done soon. If it's a desktop you should be preparing for a GPU change.
