I don't have a favorite, but i do like to read some creepypasta stories from time to time.
If only mythology counts, then i'd say greek stories like narcissus, the sirens, minotaur's labyrinth...

I was always fond of how metal the Klingon creation story is, given that it ends with the first two Klingons becoming so powerful from being united that they kill all the gods that created them. :B

May the werewolves protect you.
I like the mythology of the Fenris Wolf. It's kind of tragic in my eyes and he's totally misunderstood.
Fenrir is the son of Loki (nordic god of mischief and pranks) and he is a big and georgeous wolf. But there is a prophesy that when he'll grow up, this will cause a lot of trouble and he will be killing Odin and bring Ragnarok, the end of the world. So the Gods trick him into a trap and bind him with the indestructible thread Gleipnir, made of the breath of fish and the sounds of cat feet, etc, and never released him. This drives Fenrir mad, and so the prophesy was/will be fulfilled.

I do like the Norse mythology, and this story is indeed great! As is the entire story of Ragnarok :)
