Never really found the appeal of Undertale, but I hope someone else does.
No need to write a thank you, although I would appreciate if you told me what have you heard, or what do you know, about Costa Rica.
Have a great day!
EDIT: I'm actually from Costa Rica, but I wanted to see what people from around the world knew (or thought) about my country. Thanks everyone for your answers!

I've heard Costa Rica doesn't have a standing army. But two thirds of my knowledge of the country comes off Peace Walker, so don't take my words for it.

Major export is coffee. One of them. They have others. Coffee is the only one I know.

Yes, our coffee is famous world wide, and we're world leaders in coffee breeding engineering and technology. Thanks for your answer!

I've just read a long article about Costa Rica about a week ago - of how the country focuses on renewable energy and ecological preservation, but how these efforts are hindered by corruption, and low income of the residents, making illegal exploitation of nature more profitable on the short term than preservation. They had an interview with one of the people who try to work with the locals to preserve sea tortoise nesting grounds from poaching and tourists. (Another interesting tidbit that the article mentioned is that on one of the peninsulas the ratio of people living past 100 years of age is one of the highest in the world.)

Thanks for your answer! You're right on all accounts, including sadly the stuff about corruption, although this last government has really made a difference for the best. And yes, our Nicoya peninsula has one of the world's longest living people.

Costa Rica? Never noticed it. Is it on the countries parodied in Tropico series?
Comment has been collapsed.
I think Tropico is mostly a parody of Cuba under a dictatorship.

Tropico is really a parody of the Banana republic phenomenon in the previous century, which unfortunately Costa Rica was a part of. We got out of there, fortunately.
Thanks for your comment!

Erm... The original Jurassic Park was meant to be set on an island off Costa Rica, but I think it was actually filmed in Hawaii. And got some important details wrong, like putting San José on the coast. So I don't know how locals feel about that. (Although I'm from Ireland, and Hollywood thinks we still live in thatched-roof cottages and have sheep as pets while drinking Guinness for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so it's not too surprising).
Also, coffee coffee coffee coffee coffee.

Covfefe indeed.... Thanks for your answer!
Yes, San Jose is among the Latin American capital cities that actually isn't located in the coast. We generally don't care very much, but I'm still a little bummed by that portrayal as a coastal, poor city.

Thanks mucho!!! Costa Rica is known for its progressive environmental policies, being the only country to meet all five UNDP criteria established to measure environmental sustainability. Now you know!
