So, back in like, '05, my old steam account died. No idea why. I couldn't get into it, I couldn't even determine whether it existed or not. Just poof. And with it went my copy of CS:S.
So technically I already have this game. Maybe. I dunno.

Did you try recovering the account or contacting steam support about it? At least if you fşnd out why it "died" you can go about recovering it :) Cheers!

How different is this from the regular counter-strike? Thanks for the submission :)

This is the source version, made out with HL2 engine, rather than HL1. In my opinion, nothing beats the classic Counter-Strike 1.6, the "regular" as you say, but, for new-comers who are not so familiarized with the essence of CS, usually they like CS:S better.

So... it is the same game as Counter-Strike 1.6, just on a better engine? (Same missions, maps, etc?)
I've never played any of them, but I just started HL2 and like it a lot. :P

Well, yeah basically the same game, but it isn't just a port to a new engine. It was an entirely new release.
