Thank you for this, it's very much appreciated, I did trade for the game and OST but forgot to enter the OST serial and, of course, Steam doesn't have chat logs, (thanks Valve, you fucking ASSCLOWNS!!!!), so my edition of the OST is floating around, lonely and cold, in the harsh wintery landscape that is The Internet

MAYBE you could back then with the browser chat or the app.

What do you mean? The chat, as far as I'm aware, anyway, does not have any logs or "history". I may be misunderstanding but I see your comment as a "Use the Back button, similar to your browser when you want to go back to the previous page". I didn't have the conversation using my browser, it was the Steam client, and I don't think there's a way of going "Back" on the chat screen, similar to how you would through Firefox/Waterfox/Chrome/IE.
Like I say, I may be misunderstanding you so if I am, please clarify what you mean.
Thank you and I hope you're having a great day!

I'm not a steam techie, perhaps is only viceversa???

Possibly. I'll just have to either do without, (not life-threatening, really), or win it. I'd like it but if I don't have it, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it
EDIT Actually, you (possibly) inadvertantly gave me another idea and it now turns out that I WAS able to retrieve it some way, which was lucky on my part, so thank you! I appreciate your help!!

Now I'm trully intrigued :-D

lol nothing so good, I'm afraid.
I saw you say, "I'm not a techie", and the thought struck me. Nothing is ever REALLY deleted, unless you know what you're doing, from your PC. Which doesn't help, as far as Steam goes as, like I said, no chat logs, BUT....It was a trade for the game and, I slowly realised (exampled by the amount of time between posting to the formation of the solution), that I always take screenshots of the trade/chat window, just in case it's a scam. So I ran a program I found and "undeleted" the jpg file that had the URLs on it. Simples!!

So at the end, better forewarned than forearmed :-)
Thanks for the info. I only do those captures if the trader acts weirdly, never by defect. I guess your way can be better.
Glad I could "be of help".
