Cure by Kiyoshi Kurosawa on of the GOAT jp horror films. Adam Chaplin is also a pretty crazy one if you want something that completely ignores the concept of "subdued"
eh i think thats more to do with it being just a full blown violent gorefest with the writing being pretty typical of something like that. the action more than makes up for it though its actually a quite spectacular film in that regard
Nah, doesn't seem like it would have any real content. Just gore without an interesting story is not my style. However, I am sure there are people who'll love it.

The film is based on a true story about choosing freedom and realizing how defenseless bangs can be in front of themselves

I watch almost everything except war-dramas and weird surreal stuff, I think. Anyway, I added that request mostly just for fun, and I have got a lot of great suggestion. Probably enough for a few weeks. But if you can think of something you really enjoyed and found to be light-hearted yet unique, I'll be happy to learn about it.
Funny fact, I recently thought about buying this game, but the mixed reviews alarmed me.
I loved the good old quake series back in the days of the LAN, often playing with friends and family. It seems that this game is a fresh sip of the classics, it looks extremely interesting and evokes nostalgia.
