Ahh, Deus Ex. I don't know anyone who hasn't played this game, but to those who haven't, please do! I will never ever forget sniping mechs from afar, or blowing a certain character up to kingdom come :> This is pure gaming gold. If you were ever stranded on an island and you had one crappy laptop that can play only one game your entire forsaken life there... it would probably be Minesweeper.

Don't forget how you always had to check the women's restrooms.
Oh, was that just me? My bad.

No, I totally did that myself ;P

And the women's restrooms always had the best mirrors for doing the robot in (a.k.a. running around like a fool).
I also remember feeling ashamed the times I exited the restroom and found an actual female NPC outside... That feeling of shame passed as the game progressed and I can honestly say that the experience helped me much in real life too. Now I'm no longer ashamed when I sneak into the women's restrooms, no matter how much the security guards tell me to be ashamed of myself or how they threaten to call the police.

^ This is what happens when JC realizes he has dance-fueled psychic hand gestures that can turn on/off a faucet.

Yep, good stuff that. Have been trying to do that IRL too, doesn't work for me.
Oh, wait, yeah, there was this one time it actually worked. I cheated a bit and stood behind an unsuspecting lady and touched her butt, and lo and behold, the faucet turned on.

With the Deus Ex: Revision mod, which includes graphic overhauls, even better :D

Oh no. NOW I have to play Deus Ex again! Ok. I'll whitelist you to show how much I appreciate the idea. :)

Wow, there is a mod with achievements :D Gotta get back to the game one day :)
Thanks for the info :)

Thanks! I own the game and tried to get into it twice, but it just didn't grab me. Graphics contributed to that, which is weird since I'm usually not bothered by old graphics, even on games a few years older than this one. I guess the art style they chose didn't age well?

Well, it was made using the Unreal engine :)

Am I a bad person for not owning this game?

I have to admit, I've never played original Deus Ex but I've played Human Revolution which was o-u-t-s-t-a-n-d-i-n-g! I really loved this game, looking forward to play Mankind Divided!
I wanted to play the original deus ex too... I've heard it is really good but I am afraid I won't be able to play such an old game. I hate old and ugly games, I am not proud of it, but when I've started playing games they were looking good, so I'm not used to old graphics and mechanics.
I think I will try to play new deus ex anyway.

I totally understand not liking to play old and 'ugly' looking games, because I'm guilty of that myself. I still haven't played the Syndicate series or bought the classic dungeon crawlers even though I really want to, using the excuse that I need to save money.
But as I said in a comment above, if you would like to try one of the revamp mods, it might ease the transition so to speak. Deus Ex is I think a piece of gaming history. Considered ahead of its time because it was one of those games that seemed to defy genres, and allowed you to take multiple paths (the violent, action packed vs stealthy and quiet) to victory.
Yes, that's where Human Revolution got that from (although seriously, that unavoidable bossfight with those four or so assholes seriously nearly screwed my hacking-oriented Jensen over).

Thanks for the informations, I will try to play it with these mods!
