Didn't mean to leave the wrong impression! I intended to reply soon after but a few changes at work atm. also accidentally refreshed the page and I had a wall of text disappear haha, so annoying.

TWD was definitely good, and have yet to play TWAU.
First of all, take their view as a grain of salt. Some will like it and others will not and that's fine. Not even a lets play would really give you a proper view on how the game plays , so you alone would have to give it a shot to see if it's something you'll enjoy.
As for the reversal of time, it's mainly optional, one of the reasons to change an option that you may have wanted to play out differently. In some games, I like reloading a checkpoint in order to make a decision I intended to make (probably reduces the consequences but ah well haha) Aside from that, I think it fits in well with the story. Besides that feature, I really like the story, character development, and especially the soundtrack that fits very well throughout.. I was also emotionally invested so After playing the first, I'd go through the whole game, wanting to find out what happened next and have certain theories as I went along etc.Probable speaking too highly of it but you may have a different experience. I hope you'll like it anyway when you get a chance to play it :)
