its written as a dlc but it allows me to enter the giveaway despite not having the base game, should i shouldnt i? will i get the dlc playthrough minus the main campaign?

tbh I don't even know if the base game still exists, I can't find it on Steam. The DC version, which you can buy on Steam now, has the DLC already included. It seems like the normal game isn't available anymore. I bought it accidentally, because I didn't read the note, that it is already included in the DC. I just thought that I maybe reach someone with the normal version of the game, who's missing the DLC at this time, so the Key might be useful
But to answer your question, if you don't have Deus Ex: HR (not the DC version), you shouldn't enter, if you don't wanna end with an unusable DLC. I don't think you'll be able to play the DLC campaign without the base game, since it's not declared as a standalone version. You're of course free to enter and give it a try if you should win, if it shouldn't work you can tell me and I'll open a support ticket to find another winner :)

Nope, it's part of main game. So you can't play it without DE:HR.

Pretty sure this was standalone.

It is listed as separate position in steam library, and it's somewhat stand alone, but it won't launch if you don't have base game in your library. It doesn't have to be installed, you just have to have base game in your library.

Seriously? That's dumb, completely its own thing but restricted by the dev like this wth :/.

Yes, but you can't be sure about that with any game / DLC. They can do whatever they want with the key, that's their thing and - unfortunately - out of my control.
That's a good point, so I just tried it out. You cannot activate the DLC without having the base game. So there shouldn't be any problem with that: http://www2.pic-upload.de/img/30251274/DLC.png

There was a field where I needed to put in the key. Doesn't it go directly to the winner? I can't watch the profile in advance then, cause I don't have time to look over 350+ profiles.
Sorry for that noob question, is my first giveaway :D

Good, thank you :)

There's so much wrong with this comment. I own Director's Cut and the Standard Edition but don't own this DLC. If I win, I intend on activating it for collection purposes. I'm sure there are others like me that have entered too. It's a bit unfair to assume everyone that own's the Director's Cut would do such a thing.

Pick it up how? It's removed from steam, not cheap in trades either.
