Description

Welcome to the sixteenth week of the Final Fantasy Giveaways!

We finally got to this trilogy, a very underrated trilogy in my opinion. Of course FF13 starts out as a really, really, really long corridor but in my opinion is definitely worth it to get into those three games, especially because of FF13-2 which is really one of the best games out there hands down.

I WILL ADD YOU ON STEAM TO SEND YOU THE GAME

Check my content out if you want to:
Youtube - Past Streams Channel - Twitch
I also made a steam group where I will announce whenever I make new giveaways and will hold group only giveaways in the future, check it out if you are interested: Steam Group

I have mixed (but mostly positive) feelings about FFXIII, but I agree that it is very underrated. I enjoyed my journey for the most part. Main criticisms of other people seem to revolve around the long-corridor-beginning and the A-button-mashing in combat, but the corridor was something that already bothered me in FF7 and FF10, so I´m supprised its only FF13 that gets called out for it and for 95% of the battles in the other FFs it is just the A-button too, but FF13 has a nice way to actually use your characters skills when you do that.

I liked the story and characters for the most part. Nothing reaches up to the quality of the old games, but neither did X-2 or 12, so 13 felt like a step in the right direction to me. The Soundtrack has some great highlights, but half of it is rather medicore and I feel Hamauzus talents have been criminally underused here. It does however have the best boss battle theme in the entire series and I felt especially Pulse has been brought to life by its music rather well.

For me these are the major sins of this game:

  • No Cities/Settlements to explore
  • The more interesting parts of the story are hidden in textboxes in the menu
  • You have to beat the final boss to unlock sidequests and level-restrictions and to actually start having fun with the battle- and gamesystems... seriously, who thought that would be a good idea!? xD

I havent replayed the game yet, but its very high on my list and I´m eager to see how another run might influence my opinion. And I agree, XIII-2 is really very good and the best part of the triology. I´m not a big fan of Lightning Returns though, but it was still an okay game.

This game isn't as bad as people says it is. It's nice and has a nice story, just badly told. The biggest issue is that the game "opens" right at the very end.Don't focus on controlling a "character" but a "party", the fight system is actually pretty nice.

In this game, they tried only on the plot - the gameplay (means grind) - one of the worst in the series. Well, the stories of many characters are clichéd and primitive, except that they worked hard on the story of Vanilla.
