ha, that's interesting. For me its the opposite normally i don't like base building and i really like the nomad life. Fallout 2 was great with the car!
But i just started 4 and let's see how it is.
4 gives you that hero complex
you get to run around saving everybody and building homes for them out of all the shit you hoard!!!!
i always hoard so much shit in games so it was perfect for me.
think its about time i play the game for the start again
Fallout 1. Because it's the only one I've ever finished and one of the few I've started.
However, I've never owned and played New Vegas and since everybody is raving about it...
yeah i know that. It's just a Fallout and exploring thing i think. Also with ADHD even more.
Never finished one other than 1+2.
But just now started 4. Let's see.
Fallout 1 was a classic but Aroyo had something about it as well =)
.. and I also vaguely remember F3's start - when you are a child inside the Vault, that was really cool tutorial as well, probably one of the best tutorials I ever played.
I would also go for Fallout 1. Love the story and gameplay structure!

I also love the 2nd one, but, as you said, I am not always in the mood to rush. But the first playthrough was amazing!
