This game is an unusual mix of genres. It is a turn-based sports-management RPG, set in ancient Rome. It is entirely text based, with 2D static graphics. Even the battles are text-only. The focus is on earning and allocating funds, and on analyzing statistics in order best develop your fighters. You can see an example of a battle in the video below, at 21:35. It is reported to be rough around the edges, but has a responsive developer who welcomes bug reports and feature changes/additions.
