Yea, M2 is by far my favorite (not just due to the setting and time period) but Rome was my first taste of Total War. I haven't even played my copy of Empire for more than an hour.

Also should mention:You might try the Stainless Steel mod for M2, it cleans up a lot of the well-intentioned but flawed ideas and makes the added agents serve purposes beyond the original scope. It's the only way I've played the base game since before I was forced to integrate to Steam.
