A RPG, or is it An RPG? Phonetically, that's an "Arr" noise.
Is A versus An a phonetic or written distinction?
Phonetic it is. "An Arpy Gee."

Thanks!
The Britannica Dictionary says "an MBA degree (MBA begins with the consonant letter M, but the M is pronounced with its letter name, "em.")"
So it can be an arr-pee-gee. Or "a RPG" if you just say it as a full-on consonant word :D
Other sites and long dead scholars may disagree with the site though

Ah, so it is phonetic. But one can indeed pronounce it with either style.
Thank you.
