I've read a couple of the stories so far... and I'm confused. Was there another book before this one explaining the swarm? What is the swarm? And why does every story start with a sentence about the swarm if you don't intend to write a story about the swarm?

It's deliberately ambiguous.
It's a faerie tale formula, like "once upon a time" or "before magic left the world." The idea is everyone listening to the tale already knows what the Swarm is.
I've got quite a few more stories already written, which I'll put out there if this book does even moderately well. Each drops little hints about the Swarm here and there.
Thank you for downloading and reading! Honest reviews welcome, even if you don't like the Swarm thing! ;-)

Okay, gotcha... as to the stories themselves they are very matter of fact, which gives them a sort of folktales kind-of vibe. It is very reminiscent of Native American stories.

"purchased", it's only 31 pages so will read and post honest opinion on Amazon, if you don't mind.

I don't have a Kindle, but I have read your book on the Cloud Reader. I like fairy tales, and post-apocalyptic settings, and you've done a good job mixing the old European style of writing with a post-modern American setting. Good luck!
