Thanks for the giveaway!
I disagree though. They haven't woken up until they patch their games to remove GFWL.

It may never happen, because I think it's up to Microsoft to remove (or not) GFWL from games, not the publisher.

I don't think that's true. Anyway it was previously reported that Capcom had stated that they would be removing GFWL from their titles so let's see if they actually follow through. If they don't then I'm going to strongly consider boycotting them for the foreseeable future.

I'd strongly doubt that the onus falls on Microsoft. It sounds like a stretch to think that ALL these companies would really send their source code over to Microsoft to play with. MASSIVE conflicts of interest abound.

No its not up to Microsoft to remove GFWL from other peoples games. Microsoft does not have the games code, they do not control what goes into the games.
They only made GFWL and the services that went with it. Now they are shutting down the services and its up to the makers and publishers of those games to rewrite their games and take out GFWL integration and put in some other thing like Steamworks.
Whats sad is that more then likely all these companies paid to have GFWL included into their game to add "functionality" and "security" but now its biting them in the ass because GFWL was such a hated feature in windows based games because of how annoying it was and because their games will become near useless after the servers are shut down and no one can log into their games or make save games.
Generally I have always hated having to log into any game with a user name and password just to use features like "save game" and having to connect to a server on the net just to play. There are a number of games I regret getting because of that.

wow finally RE4 is out on steam they took decades to add it.Multiplayer would be very good if they did add it but still amazing. Thanks for this chance Ultrajet.

Decades? It came out in 2005. That wasn't even a decade ago let alone multiple. On top of that the previous PC release was such a mess that pretty much nobody wanted it and just went back to playing the game on Wii. Seriously. The controls were a mess, it didn't have proper widescreen support (yet the bloody Wii version did!), they increased the render resolution but not the textures, and more. What we got on PC before was a terrible port of the PS2 version which in turn was a slightly engine downgraded version of the Gamecube version.
Now they have finally gone back and taken all the content of the Wii version, the real widescreen support, upgraded textures and models, real PC controls (previously the mouse emulated an analog stick), and stuff that integrates with steam like achievements.
