sadly I've never played any game in the Mass Effect series, but I remember the memes about the latest game
From back when there was very little genre depth, this game delivered on multiple fronts. Adventure, resource collecting, space combat all mixed in one, with an awesome story and a kickass soundtrack behind it. A few years later it received a cosmetic and musical remaster, not only did it not take anything from the game, it actually improved upon it. It's a 25 year old game which I could play right now and enjoy it immensely.

One I always keep coming back to is GTA .. I'm just going to say Grant Theft Auto as a series are my favorite.
Witcher, Fallout, skyrim, Dirt, Euro truck simulator.. All are just brilliant games I keep on playing again and again :D Civilization, tropico. All have given a lot of hours of enjoyment and will continue to bring enjoyment. Would love to mention all of them as my favorite.

The solo campaign is fantastic, and the co-op campaign (as well as its free extra DLC puzzle course) is a lot of fun, but what makes it really stand out from other puzzle games is the incredibly intuitive puzzle creator they've added a year after launch. Some of the best and most devious puzzles of any game can be found if you end up stumbling upon the right creator. Some I've been stuck at for hours before the clear solution hits me. That, and nothing feels greater than creating your own elegantly designed map ^w^
I'm torn between the Sam and Max: Freelance Police series and Don't Starve. I have many favourites but those two stand out to me.
