Yeah, I'd save a lot of money if I could do that, but usually I end up buying the bundle after already buying the first game, and end up never playing either one... :( Oh well...
The first one had a free to play weekend, that was your chance to play it, its just sci fi dark souls, i did not enjoy it, i didnt have fun, its garbage, it made me realize i hate dark souls games.
Looks just about the same, same graphics, same UI, same HUD, same menus, same animations, same gameplay, same everything, they released recently a gameplay clip, i cant tell them apart, the UI is litearly copied over, im not even kidding. This is just for those Dark Souls players who need more of this type of genre.
Yeah, The Surge was one of the first Souls-likes - a sci-fi Souls-like, if you will. I haven't played it myself, but I remember the general consensus was that it was pretty good - better than Lords of the Fallen (their previous game), not as good as Nioh. There's a demo on Steam that I keep meaning to check out. Apparently it also had a free weekend two weeks ago that I completely missed.
I keep forgetting about Lords of the Fallen, and I'd say maybe that's because it's not very good if I didn't also forget about a lot of great games too... :( Think I saw one boss fight, and decided that was enough. You know, I could keep playing this ok game that's a lot like Dark Souls, or I could play actual Dark Souls. :) Actual Dark Souls won. :)
Ahh, Nioh, oops. See, that's exactly what I meant, I thought Nioh was a good game, and a lot of fun, but I forgot to keep playing it... :( Sigh...
Haha, yeah, that's certainly an issue.Maybe if you really want more Dark Souls, but you're totally played out on Dark Souls? Because otherwise, especially with three games, it's hard to argue for a poor imitation.
And I thought Nioh was good too. I enjoyed the demo, except for the final boss and her ridiculous insta-kill ability that I could never avoid. Insta-kill attacks can just go die in a fire, I mean does anyone really enjoy them? They're just punishing without being fun or interesting. I liked what I played of the full game too, though it was a lot more fighting game-esque than I was expecting, with a much more intricate combat system, but pretty fun. Watching really good people play it, swapping stances and weapons and pulling off combos that I can't even imagine, it's like they're playing a completely different game. But right after I got past the first area something came up to make me stop playing, and now I'm actually a little afraid to try to go back. I feel like I'd have to go through all the tutorials and try to learn how to play all over again. :(
I'll probably pass on this one, at least until I try the first game... :)
Or so I think, but a few months from now I'll be checking old giveaways and notice somehow this one's in my library too... Hope I remembered to wait for a good discount... :)

I actually thought I could rush trough the train within a day but now I'm stuck after entering like the past 3 GAs (Remnant, Greedfall, Code Vein) which were all great and I really would love to play those. Now this and my #1 wishlist game afterwards? :O
