No purpose.. they just don't know how this site works and think they'll get a key for free if they make a giveaway.. and then people waste their points on these fake giveaways. Not my problem though.

Seriously, I don't even care if it's fake. I have way more points than I can spend on giveaways that I'm interested in, so spending 60 points on a fake doesn't hurt.

go to someone profile page and there is button with " ! ".
there you must choose proper Reason of report, manually add link to suspicious giveaway and if there is need to, add a few word which describing situation.

I think that Steamgifts Staff working about "report button" on each giveaway page, but in my opinion there is not need to give us this kind of quick report possibility.
I mean, right now users have a few precious seconds when they have time to think about reporded case, if at all there is a need to report it.

But the result here is that the giveaway was not deleted and 2168 people lost 60 points. Those ppl won't be refunded their points. That makes 130k points!!! O.o

I think that support can't delate this kind of giveaway when while is open, because how did they know if it is fake or not?
even if they are suspicious too.

in the other hand if winner don't get game he still can report giveaway creator and staff may (or may not) delate giveaway post factum.

I think everything it all comes down to two "rules":

report suspicious giveaway if you feel that there is need to do so
but don't call out GA creator, miracles happen

there's no need to say sorry, you are rather new here so probably you haven't meet this rules/manners of SG.

just always stay cool, if someone do something wrong there always is time to report that, then judging is staff/support thing to do.

one of the Steamgifts principles of good behaviour. :)

in the end it will be the winner job to successfully get the gift or mark game as not received.
there's nothing more to do in situation when newbie don't read FAQ/guidelines before creating first giveaway.
