As an FYI, this is accidentally labeled as a Tower Defense title within the game description, when it's actually what Flash sites [where notable examples of the genre such as Epic War are common] seem to refer to as a Battle Strategy game [I'm unaware of a more official labeling for the genre, as it's generally classified under Casual + Strategy on other sites].
As further clarification: A Tower Defense game is defined by the use of towers either to form lanes, or to surround pre-established lanes. Lane Defense is defined by having multiple lanes and placing units/towers directly within them. Base Defense is defined by a focus on defending and upgrading a base, with combat elements secondary to that. In summary, none of these related genres have anything meaningful in common with the mono-lane, base-secondary, unit-focused design of "Battle Strategy" titles, with Tower Defense especially being completely unrelated in scope.
Well, though it is kinda amusing how the earlier "Watch Tower" [which appears to be a Base Defense title] game refers to itself as a spectacle fighter [Actual examples of that genre being God of War, Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Marlow Briggs, and Shadow Warrior]. That's at least in the user tags rather than the official description, however, and may just be Steam users trolling the tags again. :S
