It's a pity to be honest how mental illnesses are often stigmatised by the general population, specially seeing how that deters people suffering from seeking help due to being afraid of what others will think.

I can understand the stigma of being mentally ill, dealing with mentally ill people can be quite hard.

What I cannot understand is the stigma of being diagnosed. A person can never get better if they don't get treated.

It is like a person who is overweight who fears being told they are fat, they're fat either way. Get some exercise and less food.
