The First Omen. Eerie, memorable scenes, and Nell Tiger Free is star-making incredible in this film.

From this year's movies, i've only watched Immaculate. It's such a dumb movie it becomes funny near the end. There are some disgusting gore moments though

Oo longlegs was great. I randomly started watching Thelma...my parents became curious by the premise. So I stopped watching and restarted it.
They LOVED IT! My mum never watches movies, so I was overjoyed that she loved it.

My gf took me to see both Twisters and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice... and I actually enjoyed both. Neither is groundbreaking or award-worthy, they are just silly fun.

Ah right. I plan to see the first Twister and Twisters soon after that sometime this week.

I only watched 22 movies from 2024 so far, so there's not much to pick from. Ricky Stanicky (2024) was surprisingly entertaining and I expected very little beforehand, so there's that. I did expected Longlegs (2024) to be good and when I watched it it was even better. Lots of other stuff I watched before a lot of other people, so my expectations were neither too high nor too low for what I ended up with, like Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024), Civil War (2024), The Fall Guy (2024) or Trap (2024).

Looking at my IMDB ratings, it seems most movies from the past year that I watched had the opposite effect. There were some I was quite looking forward to that ended up disappointing (like Dune Part II or The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare)
I really liked A Quiet Place: Day One though. I wish I'd gone to see it on the big screen but the trailer made it look like reheated leftovers and I wasn't big on the previous movie in the "franchise". I ended up watching this one because my gf really wanted to and I enjoyed it.
