I played D&D, but I never was an actual player, opting instead to be the dedicated Dungeon Master

Thank you for the giveaway! I never did play DnD myself. I played StarWars way back in the day for several years. Then I went on to play Warhammer Fantasy for 5-6 years which was my all time favorite RPG to play. I did however try out Pathfinder very recently, which I really liked. It was unfortunately only for a short time though since I didn't really like the way the people there. (Out of a maybe 3-4 hour session the'yd talk about random uninteresting stuff for at least 75% of the time) Have a great weekend :)

I'm sorry it didn't work out, but sometimes you can't find the right group. (That's why I haven't played in years, although trying to get my old High School/College group together may be fun)
Never did Star Wars, always wanted to, but I did recently get into Battletech. Maybe not Warhammer, but from what I hear it's simmilar (at least for 40k, not sure about Fantasy)
Have a great weekend too!

Finding the right gropu indeed isn't easy. It takes time to build up the right group as well, so it is an investment that just sometimes doesn't pay off.
Warhammer Fantasy and 40k is not too similar. They use some of the same systems of course, and in the same universe, but still very different. We also tried some 40k and had some fun with it too, but Fantasy was always what kept us hooked for longest. I can highly recommend it if you get the chance :)

Sounds like a plan! There's a tabletop/rpg shop where I live that hosts Warhammer Fantasy (among plenty others) monthly I think. I'll take a look!

You're more brave then I. I hope it works out! :)

Pathfinders i'm waiting for my GM to finally start the game he's promising us for the last 2 years so i can't tell, but in 3.5 i really did enjoy the bard & the factotum even if over the years i've mostly did play the walking hospital for the group because everybody else hated playing priest ;_;

Never did Pathfinder. Have been asked to join recently though, and may try it.
My brother loved the bard, and my group loved Elan from Order of the Stick (webcomic) and his odd similarities with the few players in our group to have played bard.

Realy thx for this awsome gifeaway

Didn't play much D&D before 3.5 (except the old AD&D video games) so i can't say too much about the early ones. We recently switched to 5th Ed. and i think both have their merits - need to really get into the new stuff first though :)
As for fav class... hard to say... i like the monk, though so far i haven't managed to really play it without doing stupid things (at one point, getting most of us killed^^) - i usually end up playing spellslingers of all kind though, as no one else seems to want to play them. Two favs there - my Sun Elf Wizard summoner - specializing in the lower planes
and my
Human Druid shapeshifter - going 1v1 on an adult dragon and winning is great :D

I also started on 3rd edition (moved to 3.5 eventually) and played a bit of 4th before my main group dispersed into real adult life. We are thinking of picking up 5th and trying it all again via maptools or something online.
Monks were always fun, but quite annoying with their speed (I played as a halfling most of my time, so I was already grumpy enough with 20ft speed).
Humorously enough, everyone in my group wanted to play spellcasters, and I was one of the odd ones out playing more martial classes.

We skipped 4th... the system seemed strange to say the least - not to mention what they did to the realms themselves.
I'd recommend going for 5th with pre-4th history (if playing on Faerun)... though right now we're playing a friend's custom world, somewhere between magic and (steam)tech
Adult / Real life... the Great Destroyer of Gaming Groups... lost a couple to that one myself...
My current monk (yea, i've damned another group^^) had a base speed of 35 (now 45) - couple more levels and i can ditch my horse :)
As for martial characters - ever tried the Tome of Battle - Book of Nine Swords?

Yea, 4th was a bit odd for us...
One fun thing was the whole Elf thing where more elfs made you move faster or something of the sort, where theoretically you could go warp speed if you stacked enough elves close enough and had them all go one direction. (I think that was 4th edition?)
We did try the Tomb of Battle. And enjoyed it very much, as at higher levels it could become a bit unbalanced with casters/boring having a human fighter choose yet ANOTHER bonus feat that was pretty much useless.
Although, one of my favorite high level 1 off adventure characters I made was a halfling barbarian with monkey grip (I think that's the feat that lets you wield a weapon 1 size larger) and 2 balanced greatswords he would dual wield. Ironicus may not have been the most optimized, but he sure was fun to imagine. (Had to have custom "scabbards of holding" to make sure the greatswords actually fit on such a vertically challenged character.

Dual classed erudite/favored soul was nice character in one campaign I played, sadly was my only one :(

There's always tomorrow! If you ever get the itch to play again, just check out your local game store, maybe you'll find a good group :)

Thanks for the welcome! I figured I had nothing else to do with some old bundle games, so I decided to toss them towards nice people (hopefully)
