In terms of commenting? Just in terms of avoiding attention grabbing without good reason. I make giveaways just because I hope someone will enjoy something that I wouldn't and I hope the people joining are happy to participate. Getting an explicit message about it doesn't really help and just means I have an "unread" message notification which may or may not be something that needs attention.
