It's that time of year now, right? The mad rush through December. Here in NYC it is cold(ish) at last and we've had a bit of rain, so the season doesn't feel so dire and skewed as it did a few weeks back (although it has surely been weird-ass and strange, as seasons go). We even had a flake of snow or seven one afternoon - you had to be out in it, which I was, and actively looking for it, but there was teensy snow for a couple of minutes. Nothing like proper snow, but it was there technically, and I guess that's a start.
Our production of The Taming of the Shrew ended up being a crowd-pleaser, though audiences were smaller than we had hoped: Shakespeare and the classics sometimes seem like a hard sell in our modern days. Theater audiences never really came back all the way from Covid, but slowly they return, bit by bit. I was proud of the show, which made a gleeful romp out of a spiky text. We're doing a one-week five-show run of A Christmas Carol next, a reprise of a show we did two winters ago, and time is short for this one but we'll make it.
This is an older key, newly-revealed, and it should work fine. If you have trouble with it, please let me know. Enjoy!
