A 1960 Plymouth Fury was inexplicably involved in a series of accidents from 1962 to 1968 around Oakland, California. In total, 7 people were ran over by the car over that period, on top of other minor accidents. The car had a total of 13 owners in this period, so the accidents could not be related to just bad driving or ill intention. Finally, in 1969, Plymouth reacquired the car, and a team of engineers tried to establish the reason of such misfortune. Their final report mentions "a foreign object inserted in the gas tank, which made the combustion unreliable, provoking random bursts of acceleration", and the car was then "retired". In 1972, one of the engineers revealed off-the-record that the object could be mistaken by an upside-down Christian cross. Such events inspired Stephen King to write his 1983 novel, "Christine".

Gratitude for fury of a car.

that's hella scary tbh, sounds like an idea for a Japanese game show, "Try to not hit anyone in this crowded street! Oh and oops, we gave you a car that accelerates randomly!"
