A train heading due east at 50 miles per hour and a train heading due west from the same spot at 60 miles per hour will, after 2.2 hours, probably be farther away from one another than when they started, but we have no way of knowing for sure.

East Train —110 miles— original start —132 miles— Train West
Or they are going nowhere if that is the point of impact.
