So, a one-dollar game made by a Russian company called RedSquare: a "company" has been proven to be a sock puppet to avoid Steam rating lookups. And it is going to get a 50-dollar DLC, you claim.
Wouldn't it be just easier to call the next company Money Laundry Ltd. if you are not even attempting to hide that fact any more? On the other hand, at least I think I can be grateful for confirming that Berdyev is indeed working for the mob.
I have to admit though, dropping a few hundred keys of that DLC to the general public is a good idea to hide its true nature for a while. And as we can see, this site has an endless supply of stooges who can be used as unwilling straw men.

Then I'm not alone with immediately thinking about money laundering.

I rarely post on game discussion boards but felt compelled to when I first read about this "game.": http://steamcommunity.com/app/676740/discussions/0/2217311444333118603/

Even the dev used achievement cheat.

Im sorry but why do you think this game would be free? The Dev had to put quite a bit of work into it. Their arent any micro transactions. What would be the purpose of the dev making it? I think its a really stupid concept, but you really think someone would put hundreds of hours worth of work into something and give it away fro free?

"hundreds of hours" lol

Maybe like a hundred. You talking about thinking, developing, writing, publishing and contacting steam/getting it on their platform. Atleast 100 hours. Even for a shitty game like this.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Maybe like 2 hours. At best. Oh, unless you think waiting for Steam to add it to the game list is work. If so, then you have a very skewed way of looking at work.

OKOKOK. You guys win. I guess it would be more like 5 hours or something. Still wondering why the OP is mad they dev is asking for a buck for it.

I think the idea is that they're angry at the concept of an untrustworthy seller.

If you went to your local grocery store and found out that 1/4 of the fresh produce was actually rotten from the inside, would you be upset? I mean, I personally would be.

It looks like something that could charitably called a tech demo that was thrown together using the defaults in a certain piece of game making software and a few extra assets in about 30 minutes. There doesn't appear to be any plot, progression or structure that would have required thought, development or writing. There doesn't appear to have been any bug testing. Maybe add another 30 minutes spent looking for the fidget spinner and hoverboard assets in google and (hopefully) purchasing them?

I don't know how much work it took to get it on Steam - but I'm guessing a lot less than 99 hours.

Being a russian guy, i must say that there are plenty ways of money laundering much easier than Steam. A lot easier.
It's not the case.

Oh, Steam was used previously by Russians for money laundering. Check up on a game called Lemurzin.

That's fake.

Nobody bought that DLC.

That feeling when ppl can't differ joke from money laundering.

Just because a third party site doesn't show any purchases on Steam, it doesn't mean it is correct. Also they can claim that people bought codes directly from them or on another non-Steam website on their taxes, which is what matters (cause Steam isn't the government surprisingly).
This is a known scam with many games, not just Lemurzin: https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/4ncxof/apparently_someone_is_exploiting_the_review/
Interestingly enough all of them got taken down from Steam, including the Russians supporting them in reviews and the groups idling them. But no, it's a joke for sure.

The scam is well-know thing - games just for idling are all over, but it is hard to believe that mobs will launder money using american game store located in America.
Old-fashioned real laundry\general store in fabric district is a way more effective.

So, I guess only one person on the entire planet owns the second episode of Life is Strange as well, yes?

Apparently, it seems ok if hardly one bought only second episode, but many ppl bought 2-5 episodes pack.

facepalms
The pack was the only way to get the episodes. it is a Steam sub.
Let me spell it out then: DLC ownership data is never true, because the Steam API cannot report it properly.
But let me guess: nobody ever bought the Skyrim: Dawnguard DLC either until it was released in the full package, yes? It was only one of the highest-selling DLCs of all time, after all.
http://steamspy.com/app/211720

Or I know even better: list me some DLCs you personally own. Let's check them on that site as well, eh?

ok so im confused. What is the point of this game? No way this game us serious. Is it for idling, money laundring or trolling? Fidget spinners by themselves seem stupid but then again so were pet toclsmright?

It is a 30-minute asset flip job put on Steam by already having a few fake companies set up there, where the meme nature alone will be enough to have a ridiculous profit margin, if not too much money.
The 50-dollar DLC is also a rather telltale sign of something shady, usually money laundering through Steam's financial institution (whichever bank they may use, although I kinda have a suspicion of JP Morgan at best, a bank registered in Panama at worst :)).
