Description

Oups, it seems like there was something hidden behind that last door...

While I'm not overly statisfied with the evolution of the RE series, it sure had many great entries. This evergreen is one of the best ones among them if you ask me.

now for the real bump

I'm not too confident with resident evil 7 though.

i wish they would just make outbreak file 3

I am not sure what to think about 7 yet. I think the fact that it seems to be more of a horror game than the former ones isn't too bad but the VR features are what making me afraid. I am a bit worried that other aspects, such as gameplay may get less attention by the developers due to them.

Outbreak is a series I haven't tried so far.

thats were they implemented multiplayer correctly (save for some minor snags) where you had to work together to survive , solve puzzles, manage items , and escape.

in your team of 3 you could hide from zombies in lockers (zombies could go through doors in this game), baricade cetain doors save friends from the zombies, split up, different characters had different skills that worked in a multiplayer aspect (i.e. one character could make special medicines so if you were poisined and there were no blue herbs but you had that character on your team you could go and find them).

Ooh I was a bit slow there. I actually forgot that Outbreak was the name of Resident Evil games and thought you are talking about some other franchise, stupid me.

Still doesn't change the fact that I yet have to try it. I agree, a new one, wich uses up-to-date online features would be nice.

I wish they would make Outbreak File 1 & 2 playable again and above all playable in Europe. I never got the chance to try them out -_-

Hm, I'm pretty sure it wasn't possible for me. Maybe I just hadn't the necessary equipment back then. Or it was because I'm from Germany. Still, the servers didn't last very long and even if you have the game today you can't play it with others (although I think there is some kind of work around).

if re wanted to could multiplayer instead of RE5 they should done outbreak file 3, imagine how much better it would have been

While I personally agree with you it seems that the market for those older style Resident Evil games isn't really that large. It's true that REmake got quite a bit sale numbers but I wonder how much of that is nostalgia. So I fear an Outbreak File 3 is sadly out of the question -_-

Also I enjoyed RE5 for different reasons. It is a quite solid co-op experience although more action orientated.

the plot is a bit silly for RE5 though, wesker want's to 'save the world' by turning 1% into goop monsters

Edit- so he can be king of the goop monsters :P

To be fair: Wesker's plans never have been really that great (as for most super villains). Also it was less about saving the world and more about his super human complex .... Additionally RE5 provided a lot of background information about the origin of the virus and the story of Spencer and such which is only told in the extra files.

Can't say much to that. Excella was kinda .... yea. Irving was a throw away villain. He was never meant to be important even from Wesker's side. I think he fitted the story as disposable. And I like Wesker although I could appreciate him more if he would not pose as much .... or wear those latex(?) clothes.

just be happy his latex suit didnt come with a gimp mask

Wesker:unzips chris, you haven't changed.
Chris: you have....

I also had lots of fun with RE5. Think I finished it's co-op with 3 or 4 different persons back than on my 360. But on the other hand it was the point where it seems like they finally lost the connections to the roots of the series.

I mean basically 4 already was a radical change to what has been before but it at least still had a dark atmosphere. 5 was all bright and like you said very action orientated.

I already found RE4 to be the turning point. There were rare places you could actually feel the dark atmosphere since it was most time a bit hectic (at least playing the first time). As soon as they turned from the zombies to Las Plagas it was something different. But they somehow had to evolve their enemies

i only played a bit of outbreak 1 and 2, it was back during the times we were poor and rented games for PS2 from some store called hollywood video (just like a blockbuster type thing)

but it was so much fun. if only they make remakes of those underrated(my opinion) gems

Those were times when I was way too scared to play such kind of games. x)
Wish you good luck. It's a great remake. It not only has greatly improved visuals but also some nice gameplay additions.
