Yesterday I saw a terrific movie with a backstory nearly as delightful as the film itself. The Annihilation of Fish is a 1999 Charles Burnett film about a couple of crazy old people - James Earl Jones and Lynn Redgrave - falling in love in a nutty gentle way as they rent rooms in an odd house run by Margot Kidder. It was nearly released when it was made, back in 1999, but it never got a distribution deal, and so vanished. This new restoration, backed by George Lucas's foundation, has put it into theaters at last. It may land oddly to younger viewers, since it's about love between older adults and it's made in a sweeter style than what we generally see these days, and it's a bit of a slow burn, but I think it's more than worth a little patience for the journey.
Anyway, just saying. This is an old key, newly revealed, and should work like new. If you have trouble with it, please let me know.
