Please Read this description!
I'm not imposing any restrictions, not that I actually could if I wanted to, but I am asking that all who enter be people that are either already fans of the card game/series, or already have a mild interest in it.. please don't enter if you're just thinking it might be nice to pad your games library or "maybe play this some day years from now". Further, I would love for the winner to play a game with me, as I am NOT AT ALL familiar with it (aside from the demo on Xbox 360) and it would be nice to kind of get a guided battle of sorts.
Winner does not have to stick to that, but it would be nice to either be shown the ropes or just have a partner to learn it together for a game.
Please leave a comment if you think this is a stupid suggestion to put in the description... I don't mean to be an idiot but I would like to give something but also just kind of get one friendly card battle out of it :)
This contest will end BEFORE the game comes out, so I'll gift the pre-order to the winner which I believe includes some hats for TF2.

Well, between buying a new annual version, expansions, and card decks... it can get a bit much. Nothing like League of Legends, though.
Note: I loved 2011 and still play it. Now it's old hat, I guess. :(

edit: Just read the decks that are in this one. Looks like they put in a stripped down version of the Caw-Blade deck. I know what everyone will be playing online :(

I'd definitely play some matches with you if I won this. Been looking forward to this for a while. Being too broke to play in local tournaments and MTGO being way too expensive, these are just enough to quench the MTG thirst.

Played MtG since Arabian Nights. I've been playing MtG:DotP 2011 on the PS3 a lot lately. I also replay the Magic the Gathering Shandalar old school Micrprose game. The nostalgia is overwhelming in this submission.

I loved the old Microprose game. I can't seem o get Shandalar to run without crashing on me though. :(

If you're having trouble with Shandalar, try using the the compatibility fix available here:

You should also install Manalink 2.0 to be able to add new cards and play multiplayer:

Still have the Shandalar game; yeah it was buggy as hell, but it is one of the best MTG games out there. Also, look into Magic Workstation; its great for online play with people you know and can trust not to cheat.

I've been trying to get into Magic for a while now. At first, I was going to buy the first game on Steam, but then they came out with all of those card packs and expansion packs and overwhelmed me. I'd really love to play it sometime.
