Description

Will friend on Steam to send the gift. No thank you messages please. Instead, I would like to hear which game, in your opinion, least lived up to its hype. Personally, I'm still torn between No Man's Sky and Watch Dogs. GL

While NMS is fun. I do find it is a shell of what it was. For me though, because of how much it was talked up, Gravity Rush was the biggest dissapointment to me.

I don't really have this issue because I tend to play older games so I'm never really anticipating or wondering about how good a game will be. I'd say I was quite surprised how Mighty No.9 turned out. I didn't buy it or even look into it much, but I thought a great game would come out of what seemed to be a team perfectly set up to bring Mega Man back. Sadly, it only ended with a mediocre Mega Man like game.

I was never too caring of Watch_Dogs because I saw it as Ubisoft trying to make their own GTA clone with a gimmick. Also, GTA games in general aren't the most exciting games too me so I never really cared for it anyways.

Every time they brought up how big the world was in No Man's Sky I knew this meant the worlds are essentially seeds of a procedural generated planets (so nothing new). For that reason, the idea of so many worlds didn't wow me, rather it only made me wonder how varied the planets could be. The seamless transition from a planet's atmosphere to space is quite nice though.

Ever heard about MGSV? Game isn't genuinely bad, but the hype surrounding it was out of this world.

Wouldn't really know. I don't give myself to being hyped. Take everything with a grain of salt and being real is my thing. New game might suck, or may not. Sure, the disappointment is there if they let me down, but much more rarely, since I don't expect too much :D
Tried NMS, it's cool, although I didn't play it much, BUT had no problems with crashing, graphics, lag, or whatever shit people tend to throw on that game these games... it ran smooth as a Kenyan runner.

Watchdogs was IMO pretty good, had a lot of fun with it for only $1 xD just a little repetitive. Still there are no games that really disappointed me since i dont pre order or pay more then 20 euro for a game :)

No Man's Sky all the way. Watchdogs was an unpolished game but it didn't claim to change the gaming industry to begin with

I hated Watch Dogs after the release and never finished it, i've restarted it after the E3 2016, and it was better than i remembered, and i'm enjoying it. I'm against preorders, never preordered, so usually i'm not hyped for games, i check the release dates, and if i find an interesting game, i check and re-check it, the reviews are not gold, but it's surely better than the game advertising :D
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

Very rarely have I actually seen a game that lived up to it hype - I think that the closest I've seen in a long time was Fallout 4.

I'm going to give it to Spore. At a time in Wil Wright could do no wrong, he promised a game that would simulate both evolution of life all the way from primordial ooze and also society from a single village to a space-faring empire. That was back when gamers could still hope. People burned by NMS really should have known better by 2016.

I certainly would say Watch Dogs was not nearly as good, but I would also like to mention Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Even with more guns and crap, it was just a more floaty copy-paste in my eyes. Heck, years later and people still don't have a large portion of the content detailed on the wikia.

It's a hard choice actually, but I'll go with No Man's Sky since its far more recent

NMS, hands down, has been the biggest letdown from what they hyped it up to be.

Watch Dogs was pretty cool ,had some performance issues on my potato , though gotta love that GTA Watch Dogs mod.

Mass Effect series for me was a lot of fun ,i know it's an easy answer and they had a huge budget behind them but it gave me hours of great PC gaming fun .

I also like the pc games that get some modders attention ,it can completely change a game even years after.

Telltales Borderlands was very cool too ,gave me an insight into the borderlands games which i hadn't really paid much attention to previously.
