Description

Another gift that will be sent to someone who just wants to sell the cards the winner's email. Good luck, Momodora fans!

Since I know you all love Momodora so much, why not check out the website for the sequel, Momodora IV or their Patreon that I have been trying to subtly direct you toward without directly linking to it because I am not sure whether that breaks the rules?

Instead of telling me thank you, please give me Momodora III cards vote on whether or not my next Momodora III giveaway (in three weeks, as usual) should have a level restriction, and if you vote yes, please also vote on what level it should be. (Everyone only gets one vote, and only votes posted before this giveaway ends will be counted.)

The results are in:

Yes: 10 votes.
No: 6 votes.
Make a puzzle: 1 vote.
Pick a random number: 1 vote.

Levels 1 & 5: 3 votes each.
Levels 2 & 7: 2 votes each.
Level 3: 1 vote.
Levels 4, 6, 8, 9, & 10: 0 votes each.

And the result is yes to a level restriction with a tie between levels 1 and 5! However, one of the votes for level 1 came from someone who voted no, which I allowed even though it was clearly not allowed by my original wording. So for the sake of breaking the tie, I take back that decision, leaving level 1 with only two votes. (Alternatively, I cast a tie-breaking vote for level 5 to give coezo a better chance at winning.)

Thus, my next Momodora III giveaway will have a level 5 restriction!

Thank you for voting, everyone! Sorry this was kind of a mess in some places, and I hope everyone at level 4 or lower who actually wants to play Momodora III will be back in six weeks for another unrestricted giveaway! (Or rush to level 5 in the next three weeks!)

No way, why would you deprive anyone of the majesty of Momodora III?

I would give away a thousand copies each time if I could afford it! Everyone should play Momodora III!

Not to mention, I think putting a level restriction in would actually work against some of your intentions as well. Considering you're also trying to raise awareness about the developer and Momodora IV to the community, cutting out a section of the people you're trying to inform is probably the last thing you want to do.

I had not thought of that--now I hope no restriction wins! No one reads the middle paragraph anyway, though.

Unless there's a reason why you would want to add a level restriction, I would say no. You haven't had one thus far, why start now? Thanks!

I just wanted to see what would happen if I asked. I also feel bad about giving the game to leechers who just want the cards when so many people really want to play it, but I know adding a level restriction is not guaranteed to help.

while there are leechers, there are still lurkers that discover new games that may end up spending real money that funds the dev (so no level requirement)

even someone on the farmer's friends list might discover the game

Your comments seem suspicious for some reason, but thank you for voting nonetheless!

lolz? you mean they seem like a leecher trying to get a game to farm? in this specific case, the game looks beautiful & i actually want it

it's still your choice, i'm just saying that not every unrestricted game with cards is going to have a bad ending (not that the percentage of good will be high, but it's more than nothing... end goal being future game sales that arent just a few cents)

or did you mean i'm affiliated with the dev, which would be way off

EDIT: over 800 entries, that's 800 eyes that saw the game, some or most of which opened the store page, this is what i mean, it doesnt even matter if the giveaway is cancelled at this point, there are bound to be new fans

Sorry, I did not mean to imply anything about your motive for entering this giveaway, and I am glad you are interested in it! I just thought your comments were funny coming from someone who has not given anything away.

(And I am not trying to indict you or anything; I totally understand not being able to make giveaways, whether you cannot afford them or whatever reason! I can barely afford these myself, and my anxiety makes me want to stop sometimes...)

i'll make some sometime... got lots of spare copies, no legit excuse i know (laziness)

my comments are usually about the big picture, i find it funny that people tend to resort to personal rebuttals that are irrelevant & dont change the original post

yes a rich person talking about poverty is more wrong than a poor person talking about it, but it's not all wrong

this is why 4chan styled anonymous posts are good, it's pure ideas, not individual people

Patreon clicky. No personal opinion,it'd be nice to have a better chance at it for me but you're also making some people who legit want this game not be able to enter. Maybe level 1?

My thoughts precisely. +1 for level 1 IF you decide you need to introduce a level requirement.

So your vote is "no, level 1"? Voting no but still voting for a level is kind of silly, but I guess I can allow it!

My vote is no. If you decide to go with a level requirement my vote in that case would be level 1. They're two separate issues so a vote in each instance seems logical enough.

It might be unfair since presumably everyone voting no would also vote level 1 in the interest of keeping it as open as possible, whereas the yes votes will be split among different levels.

I might change my mind if a bunch of people start doing it or if yes-voters complain, but since this is not a very serious poll anyway, it is fine for now.

It would probably be easier to just count no votes as votes for level 0, then all you need to do is see what number gets the most votes.

That would be biased towards level 0 since everyone who wants no restriction will vote for that, but everyone who wants a level restriction will be divided among ten options.

It would be a little easier though, yes.

2 or 3 would be best, though not everyone wants the game just for cards. I'm really interested in it.

I am glad to hear you are genuinely interested! But since you can only vote once, I am going to count yours as "yes, level 2". Is that okay?

Since you did not specify a level, I will use your current level (7). Is that okay, or would you like to pick a different level?

Playing the game and then selling the cards is fine; entering giveaways just to get cards and then never actually playing the game is what I have a problem with.

Yeah I admit I'm more interested in playing (or at least trying) games with cards, but I do play it to drop cards at least.

I say leave it to chance and roll a d12 die. If it lands on 11 or 12 means no restrictions to the giveaway. Otherwise random.org it with 0 and 10 as your mix/max.

To be clear, is your vote for a separate "pick a random number" category, or do you want me to pick a random number for your vote?
