worst video game mishap? probably all those games in my backlog while I'm here on steamgifts trying to win more. although this one has looked cool ever since I heard of it!
My worst video game mishap happened in vanilla WoW. I had done numerous runs of Scarlet Monestary trying to get an epic belt when it finally dropped from the boss (Herod). Only one other member of the group needed it so I had a 50/50 chance! Then Vista decided to do an update and blue screened my PC. I restart and it freezes multiple times trying to update. By the time I get back in game the instance was done the party was gone and so was the loot. :(
To this day the mere mention of Vista sends me into a manic rage. I HATE that OS!
The Moment i was so dumb to Play the Game Secret of the Magic Crystal from start to finish.
Games can have a bad design, they can be boring and so on.
This is one of those Games that has actually all of those bad Points.
It is a pure waste of precius lifetime.
I was doing something with Sims 2 once and, to make a long explanation short, my Sims 2 download folder got deleted (though much of the blame there goes to an unforeseen shortcoming of Windows and/or a particular uninstall routine).
Roughly 16GB of meticulously organized files. POOF!
The process of restoring that mess was daunting to say the least. "Takes the wind out of your sails." doesn't even begin to cover it.
