Yeah gameranger can be an alternative, but i had very few success with this plateform, since most game i could find seem to use pirated version, i really had a hard time finding game working with the latest patch and when i did, there were other issue, like people disconecting for no apparent reason over and over...
The multi player support in game stoped because it was powered by gamespy i think and it just stoped to exist...
Still the best way to enjoy multiplayer Assault Squad is probablly by playing the second titles, that is basicaly the same game, with better graphics and multiplayer support...
Well the game don't support multi player by now, i'm not even sure why they keep this dlc on their store page to be honest...

Someone here says use Gameranger or Tunngle while another says you don't even need that.
I don't know i never managed to play this, let alone multiplayer.
