Thank you for sharing your experience with the steam deck. I have tried one a friend of mine had and really want one myself. But will probably need to wait until this summer when things slow down a bit.

I really recommend it specially for casual gamers, it's the perfect thing. Hope you get yours soon!

I'm really debatting sometimes getting one... but how to justify it when i just bought my new GPU at 500€... Also i'm quite torn about buying a PS5, but can't really justify it with now so many PS exclusive game coming to PC.
I have a PSP, Vita, and 3DS, and while i extensively played the PSP (and the old DS before her), the 3DS and Vita saw very little play, and i'm afraid i would do the same with the Steam Deck. But i'm really amazed by the Steam Deck, that is for sure.

Yeah... money doesn't grow on trees afterall. About the PS5 I'd say it's more related to how much or how soon you wanna play those tittles, since not all of them are coming to PC anytime soon.
Envy is real haha, I really wanted a PSP and Vita, i would have done magic with those. It all depends on the time you have available for gaming, my thecnique is downloading many games between AAA, AA and Indies, so if i see I won't have much time i will just play the indies (Detention and Gris were the last I beated) since those are most easy to get along with (to me at least) but if I can tell I'll have a lot more time then I will most likely go for the AAAs (beated Tomb Raider and currently playing MG Rising and RE2).
I have been playing daily using said thecnique, like 1-2h between 20-30mins sessions.

PSP was an amazing console. I hacked it so i could play any title, and also could emulate GBA and SNES game. I played a lot of game i enjoyed a lot. PSVita is amazing too, but suffer from basically having no game at all for me (i mostly have 2 only that i really wanted on it).
How long the Steam Deck can run with it's battery ?
As for PS5 game, don't worry, i have like 40-50 PS4 game on backlog... that's also why i find it unreasonnable to buy it, although the ability to play PS4 game on PS5 is quite tempting.

So the battery is actually the only weak point i found about the Deck, It pretty much depends on what you play and how you play it tho, I'm not demanding with graphics, therefore I'm prefectly fine playing at mid-high settings. I have got 2h In AAA games and around 5 with indies.

Also purchased steam deck. When it was first announced I thought "nice, but why would I need one?". But after that Russia attacked our country, and I had to leave my city really fast, and of course I left my gaming PC behind, with only very old laptop with integrated GPU. That's when I decided to get one, luckily I've had enough funds on steam wallet, I would never spend real money at such trying times. And I must say that I really like it, and even now, when I managed to get my PC back, I still play mostly on deck (I still don't have much time to play, but whenever I have some time - it's deck). I played Costume Quest (wanted something simple just to get used to controls), played some Deep Rock Galactic with friends, and now playing Dead Space.

Sorry to hear you passed through such situation, really.
I totally get what you say, I almost forgot of my gaming laptop after getting the Deck haha, it's just way faster and comfy. I've been trying to play Dead Space on Steam but i always stop for some reason, hoping the Steam Deck can give me enough motivation for that one lol.

Steam Deck is freaking amazing imo. I bought it last week after long time of hesitation, but now .. man no regrets. It is perfect for me since i like laying in bed playing games, and I have some old-school handhelds like GameBoy but obviously you can't play The Wither on that :D so yeah, handheld that can run GTA4 on high settings in 60 fps? I'm all in.
Best purchase I have made in a looooong time, I hope it's durable like GameBoy tho.

Yeah, I was also really unsure about getting it but as you just said, no regrets. Steam Deck has awaken my pasion for gaming, since i don't have much time available, It is truly fantastic to get get the chance to turn the Deck, play 20mins and turn it off. I can't love it enough.
