Also, check out "The Last Unicorn." It's Patrick Rothfuss's favorite fantasy book, and it's a classic.

Thanks. Sorry don't read much and stayed clear of magician books that came out after HP since there was an abundance of them at the time.
But there are a lot of books that came before HP, and that are still very good :)

Maybe give the Dresden Files series a shot? It's a little bit more modern fantasy, but pretty decent.
It sounds really interesting, a little bit different than the usual stuff... I'll definitely give it a try, thanks!
Definitely check out the Dresden Files books. Storm Front is the first book out, and there are currently 13 full books, and a bunch of short stories. 14th book comes out this November.
If there are so many books, and if they are that good as a lot ouf you say they are, I'm looking forward to diving into them as soon as possible :D
