Yes you can, as long as you remember. Once the giveaway has ended, before hitting send you can edit the key field - just change it from the link to a key.

Yes the OP was a self-confessed trader, but HB T&Cs are broader, stating that gifting a game in exchange for a 'reward' is trading and disallowed. And from anecdotes here they seem to consider the SG leveling system a reward.
