:)

I've always wanted to start the first one, but I've heard from a handful of people that it has too many frustrating moments due to outdated design choices, so I'm hesitant to try it.

What's the scariest game you've played?

Hey Pete, having played EW2 on gamepass, I felt like its much more of an action game than horror most of the times, only during boss fights and certain parts, the game really gets tense haha :)

it's the horror games where you need to run or hide that I just can't stomach these days

Same here, which is why I haven't tried Alien: Isolation, Outlast, Amnesia series, etc. They'd probably give me a heart attack. I too am a massive fan of the Alien series though, so I'll have to force myself to give it a try one of these days.

Dead Space 1 & 2 are both in my top 5 games of all-time. #2 is my favorite game ever. Not necessarily scary, but probably the most tense games I've ever played.

My answer might seem silly, but there's something about Minecraft that scares the living shit out of me.

What about it do you think scares you so much? The blocky unnatural look everything has?

The ambient music in the game is definitely unnerving, and combined with caves and stuff. It triggers a fear response in me, so whenever I played I just stayed on surface level. And I'm 30+ y.o :')

Alien: Isolation, without a doubt. It took me thirty minutes to get through the last five minutes of the game because I had to stop every five seconds to manage my terror-induced panic. I was a limp noodle by the time the credits rolled and I almost cried from sheer exhaustion. Incredible game.

Probably Stalker, but I'm a pussy I avoid horror games like the plague.

Silent Hill 2, psychological horror sticks with you better than any game I played, amazing story and sound design.

Definitely the original Amnesia game! 😱
Thankfully I was playing it with a mate, so we could take turns when it was getting too much for one of us 😆
Otherwise I would never have finished that game, I'm just too big of a chicken 😅

Amazing one to see, I bought the og version 2 days ago and I quite enjoy it despite not being a fan of horror games.

Amnesia for me. Couldn't take that jumping heartbeat.

Outlast. Had to close it after playing the first 25-30 minutes cuz I was really scared! I had my scare moments in Doom decades ago, like when I was in nightmare mode in a large map near the end, everything clear except for a distant growl I couldn't locate... And suddenly a demon appeared in a corner! I jumped off the chair.
But nothing like that first try in Outlast.

Little Nightmares 2. It commits to the atmosphere even more than the original. Spooky.

I do not know the scariest game I have played, but Outlast gave me tons of jump scares.

Honestly? Alien Isolation is the scariest game I've ever played and it is in a league of its own IMO.. Followed by Subnautica which is weird cause its not even a horror game.

I haven't played too many scary games. With that in mind, the scariest I've probably played is The Cursed Forest. Feels like you're being watched pretty much the entire game, and a jump scare got me so bad that I had a minutes-long neck and upper back tingle that actually made my jaw hurt.

Haven't played it myself but watching it on youtube and streamers - RE7 in VR is terrifying, even if you know what happens
