Hearing that makes me feel a little better ;) I just thought that rainbow sky was so amazing.
My imagination expanded many 'simple' things when I was a kid. (which was a good thing!)

That was a staple of all early games, and somehow it legitimately helped them. I think text-based adventures back then really helped to develop my imagination to the weird, vivid state it is now. The nearest most modern games come to it would be in the true roguelikes, where imagination fills in the many gaps left behind by the ASCII graphics. Plus it also helps that there is so much room for emergent headcanon-style storytelling. \:3/

I can't remember the first game I ever played, but I can remember playing the Gameboy for the first time.
I was with my father at one of those "take your kids to work" sort of days. For some reason I was holed up in a meeting room with a couple of older kids. One of them had a gameboy. They set it down on the table after a bit and eventually had to leave the room for a few minutes. So I went over there, fiddled with it, figured out how to turn it on and started playing it. Can't remember exactly what game it was. I was able to play it for a couple of minutes and then it died. I had thought I broke it, but the batteries just died (pretty sure I wasn't in school yet, so I didn't understand how things worked).

Haha, My brother had a gameboy with pokemon blue. every time I got on his gameboy I always pressed "new game"(I was also a little kid) thus removing his save, so he was pissed because of it and I didn't know why until recently, I was like "oh, thats why he was pissed."

I think it would have been Warcraft. At least, the first PC game I became addicted to. It may have been Oregon Trail. Or some NES/Gameboy game.

I have no idea, I was like 3 years old and I had a Master System and a NES. I remember playing Paperboy, Sonic, a Star Wars game, Duck Hunt, ... no idea which was the first. It might also have been a PC game, my parents had a Pentium I and they got me some educational games.
