The problem with this game is that I only saw a snippet of gameplay and I was sold! Greek mythology, pixel graphics, cool beat 'em up. Then BOOOOOOM it's a weird mob rougelike, with strange controls. Damn.
So here you go, don't make the same mistake I did, check out a couple of videos and watch them until the end, unlike myself.

I know that feeling. Won Basingstoke a while back, was looking forward to playing it. A stealth zombie roguelike, what's not to love!
Well, as it turns out, combining stealth and roguelikes had a few core issues from the outset. Put bluntly, roguelikes are supposed to be fast and snappy quick fixes of fun while stealth is supposed to play like you're directing a slow and meticulous caper. There's an inherent disconnect between the two and, as someone who preferred the latter in Basingstoke, the combined experience got really frustrating, really fast. Planning was difficult because the procedural generation meant that the map layout changed every time, the maps were huge and easy to get lost in, every enemy could one-shot you, and save points could only be bought for a significant chunk of cash. This all combined to make a particularly frustrating stealth experience. I'm sure plenty of people would and do enjoy the roguelike side of the Basingstoke, it has its own little community after all, but it's really hit-or-miss in my opinion, and I really wish I could have liked it.

same here. though i have heard they updated okhlos with some additional gameplay features, might come back to it later, but the core gameplay is probably the same
