Haha, entirely plausible! In any case it's a decision mainly driven by the month grace period on Steam gifts before you're allowed to trade them... but I'd like to think that in posting ranked giveaways with an extended duration, it provides more of an incentive for those not quite there yet to contribute - and thus the cycle of giving continues...

People surely will have time to enter - but did you know, that you don't need to wait until the gift is tradeable? The grace period only applies if you want to trade it in the trade window - using the send options it's deliverable immeadiately after the purchase :)
