Description

I hereby declare November to be Delta Force Month!

Many people think this is an adaptation of the film bearing the same title, but in reality, they are rather different. Granted, both this game and the film (plus the book the film was adapted from) use the same real-life incident, the failed US Somali incursion as a backdrop.

Probably this is the Delta Force game most of you are familiar with. Not just because of the title but because it was the first one in the franchise that used the more modern military shooter design approach. The entire thing is very cinematic, very scripted, throwing out the previous large open maps to favour urban combat and railroading.
On the plus side, the game is more compatible with today's audience, who cannot imagine a game with large open maps without zombies, crafting, and some kind of a skill system.

I still have an original CD of this awesome game somewhere. Gotta go look for it. You made me want to play this again :)

Some glitch on the site. I have a ticket for it, we'll see if it gets resolved eventually.

This game was a part of my childhood among a few others. So many memories playing it with my brother and sister.

I hated the minefield cause as a little kid it took me a long while to figure it out.

Ahh man I loved the delta force series when I was in my mid to late teens. Started playing when the first game came out, didn't think much about it at the time, but those games are actually pretty difficult. You get used to modern checkpoints and health systems. I remember many times in the first games where I'd almost be finished and then die to the one enemy I missed, and have to start again. It was like 2 shots and you were dead and health packs were not exactly plentiful. The open environments were definitely something different from the much smaller linear levels the other shooters at the time had, for the most part it felt more like you could reach the objective in your own way. Mine was usually on top of a hill with the barrett.
