Description

Instead of generic cut & paste thanks messages (which will get you Blacklisted), tell me two actors you'd like to see in a Buddy Cop type movie.

John Cena and Willem Dafoe. I don't know why, it might work somehow. Dafoe being an angry old man and John Cena being a smart strong guy.

That would be a great pairing to see, especially because they both have great comedic timing AND they're both really good actors just in general.

I've really only seen Sophie in Heretic and Companion as far as I know but I'm definitely down for more of her work, and I'm a big fan of Kristen's other than Twilight, this would be an awesome pair.

I like that question, when I think of Buddy Cop I just imagine all the good old combo's (back in my days) Lethal Weapon which was serious with minor comedy, and then you have Rush Hour which was mainly comedy. Tango and Cash... A lot of the actors I think about though I feel have already done a Buddy Cop Type of film.

So for an up and comer... Tom Holland and Idris Elba, I had to search a few but I think they would be pretty interesting. Had to edit: That would be my lighthearted choice, for seriousness swap Holland for Tom Hardy.

I'm down to watch anything Idris Elba does, and I'd love to see Tom Holland branch out more - like The Devil All The Time - so I'd love to see that, or Tom Hardy and Idris, because we already know Tom Hardy is an amazing actor.

I agree, Tom Hardy is amazing all around. Since you posed the question, what are some of your favourite buddy cop movies? and who would you personally pick?

I think my dream pairing would be Ben Foster and Evan Peters. Both incredibly talented actors and two guys I'd watch in pretty much anything. TBH I think Evan Peters not being cast was one of the biggest problems with the later seasons of AHS.

Adam Sandler and Steve Carell, but with more serious direction, they're very good dramatic actors. Maybe swap one of them for Jim Carrey.

Absolutely. I'm not a big fan of Adam's or Jim's comedy, and even Steve's was a bit much for me at times, but they're all phenomenal dramatic actors.

I was gonna say "Danny DeVito and Charlie Day" but there's probably already an Always Sunny episode with that

Hmm, I actually don't know. What about the combination of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker? It was foolproof in the three Rush Hour movies.

Honestly, it would be hard to beat 48 Hours' Nolte and Murphy. But really, I think it would have been nice to see Kevin Spacey and Kevin Pollak, not because of their names, but I always thought the two were used as character actors instead of being given the chance to really show their skill. Both Kevins are truly better actors than given credit.

I'm a big fan of Kevin Spacey's early movies, but I think he's gotten a bit stale lately and plays too many similar characters so it'd be nice to see him play something different, and a buddy-cop type movie with Kevin Pollak (who I REALLY like) would be perfect.

Check Beyond the Sea, it was a project he had wanted to do for a while and basically had to fund a large chunk in order for him to star in it. It gave him a good chance to show he has more range than what Hollywood wanted him to play, which was basically just villains after Se7en,

My buddy cop duo as already made that kind of movie. Nick Frost and Simon Pegg in Hot Fuzz. Their chemistry together is amazing.

Pom Klementieff and Jenna Ortega. In the style of one of those Scandinavian murder mysteries, all serious and depressing as it's base, and then these two come in with a happy go lucky moments for one and a Wednesday like glee at the depression for the other.

I think I only know Pom Klementieff's work in the Marvel movies so far but I really like her work there so I need to watch more, but I think her and Jenna Ortega would be awesome in a movie together. I don't think I know many Scandinavian movies in general (unless the Millennium Trilogy counts as Scandinavian? I'm a bit ignorant in what "Scandinavian" actually covers lol) but I do love murder mysteries, especially non-Hollywood ones, so yeah I think that pairing in that kind of movie would slap.

Wagner Moura and Timothy Olyphant. Moura was good in the Elite Squad films. I still consider ES1 the best police tactics movie I've seen so far. The sequel is less about tactics, and more about politics and corruption, but it's still a decent film. I liked Olyphant in Deadwood. And even though I haven't watched Justified, I hear he does a good job there, as well. I envision a movie with these two playing cops from different countries, who have to team up and catch a trafficker or arms dealer. Maybe something in the vein of Rush Hour, just less slapstick and more 'action with a bit of comedy'.

IDK Wagner Moura aside from his role in Civil War, which I LOVED, but I'd watch anything with Tim Olyphant so the two of them in a slightly more serious take on the Rush Hour/Shanghai Noon formula, or like American Dragons would be great fun.
