Why would anyone start from anywhere other than the first one, so problem solved for you.
In case of Persona or FF series, it is fine to go those with best plot or best combat system. JRPG also have a trend of disconnected plots among different games, so I thought this may be the same :P
Ah true, but in this case you would just be spoiled about new waifus if you skipped ahead before they are introduced.
