I'm not sure if it fits your taste, but Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons is very beautiful game, and I encourage you to try it. One moment though - it requires a gamepad to play effectively, and it excels in gameplay, I assure you =)

In the honor of a great and now defunct dev studio I'd recommend:
Arcanum: of steamworks and magick obscura

A fallout-like rpg game set in a steampunk fantasy world with interesting quest and story and lots of options to set up your character. And ofcourse a hilarious playthrough for characters with extremely low intelligence level :D.
It can be bought on GOG and I highly recommend that, their stuff has usually no issues when running on new systems + you get bonus content usually.

IF VNs are what you're looking for try out the infinity trilogy (never7, remember11 and ever17), they are pretty good (I haven't yet beaten never7 but so far it's ok, the other 2 were awesome though, especially remember11)

If you like arcade style racing games, I'd recommend Burnout 3: Takedown for the PS2. It hasn't just got racing, but also some slightly different game modes which are all really fun and entertaining. Give it a try~ And thanks for the GA!

Personally, I just spent 100 hours on "Reprisal Universe" on Steam.
It is a true remake of the classic and first god game: "Populous" from 1989.
