Steam version of SPG2 has in-game bonuses for every achievement you unlock, Workshop support... I love GoG but Steam version is much easier to update. My personal experience - If you want an old game like Doom or Baldur's Gate, buy it on GoG and it will work. If you want new game that is constantly updated, buy it on Steam. Steam has problems with old games, while GoG has problems with speed of updates on new ones. Galaxy might change that to some extent...
Warlords will be released on GoG and Xbox One too, but it's far from finished. It's in Early Access alpha on Steam at the moment. So far, people loved it since it's basically a community driven project. :)

I think most people agree about that one aspect of GoG in regards to games that are still getting updated. It is why I tend to only get games that are no longer being updated on there. On the good side though their GoG Galaxy is improving a lot so eventually all games that are still in development or constantly getting updates/fixes wil be up to date on GoG as well.
Many of the games on GoG that are newer are already being kept up to date along side the steam version via GoG galaxy. Didn't know warlords was going to be on Xbone 1 as well, thats good for the devs if they can reach the console audience.

It already did. Starpoint Gemini 2 was well accepted on Xbox One and even though it was not originally planned for console, redesigning the whole UI and 8 months of working on a good port, made it's impact on XB1 community. :)
Since Warlords is developed with console in mind, but not at the expense of PC goodies (Workshop support, better graphics if hardware allows it) it will be better then SPG2 on console from the start. :)
