Surprised to see Steam review groups still being relevant and preying on new/small indie devs 🤷

You know nothing of me, Shanti, yet you dare accuse me of preying on indie devs. It's a pity someone who contributed so generously on SteamGifts, still has an obtuse mindset.

I don't know anything of you personally but Review groups have been notorious for selling/trading dev review copies on the gray market and frankly there isn't any need for these groups to even exist. There is nothing or no kind of service or exposure that they provide to a Dev which they cannot do for themselves. Most of them make a Giveaway with 2 lines and count that as "exposure to thousands of verified Steam customers with over $100 in purchased products".
Sadly most of them are unaware of this especially when it is their 1st game. Deliberately taking advantage of an uninformed person feels like preying to me, but maybe all of this does not apply to you. In that case please explain to me how you are different and what service you provide to them and I will sincerely apologise for my remark.

Read my reviews. They are all public. In case you really have to know, I get a lot of extra keys from those developers I've helped with translation and spellcheck. I take advantage of no one. 90% of developers contact me or my sponsors, not the other way around.

Okay, most of your reviews seem to be for some other review groups which clearly mention on their front page "for business inquiries in promoting your game contact us" etc. And for this game in particular i.e. "Darkarta" I have already seen people selling keys for over a week now even before the game was released and afaik the game is not sold anywhere on retail. Those sellers (not you) all claim to be "Game reviewers" on their Steam profile as well.
I am sorry, I did not want to imply you specifically or individually were doing this but Review groups in general have been doing this and are still doing it. Maybe you are a good person who helped these people out and got keys from devs showing their gratitude but I think you should take a closer look at the groups you & your reviews are associated with.

Oh, I know who you refer to. He's been conducting professionally with me at least. And I will review Darkarta myself in a few days. I work with an increasingly large number of groups, including my own. If I were to do this for sheer profit, I wouldn't bother writing reviews on a daily basis. But I appreciate your concern. Most folks don't even care to access my group link or to read my reviews. I like to think that the few which do, actually like my hard work. Apart from my dedicated "fanbase" of trolls and haters, that is. I consider my review writing activities, a redemption for the many years of video gaming piracy. As a former consumer, of course.
